Name Webpage capture on the news article of workers protest for severance from closed five-star hotel
Description

Webpage capture on the news article of over 100 former employees protested in front of the closed hotel, demanding seniority payments, severance pay, pay for unused annual leave and compensation for the company failing to give adequate notice about their firing. The hotel closed on December 31, 2019. Since June 2019, the hotel had fallen behind on salary payments and faced regular protests from workers. The company had agreed to pay some of the compensation but not all. The case was referred to the Arbitration Council after both sides failed to come to an agreement. Workers did not agree to the compensation amounts offered by the company. The strike lasted at least four days, until January 23. The outcome was referred to Arbitration Council. On February 21, 2020, workers were awarded three of their four demands, including compensation for seniority benefits, late notice of termination and unused vacation time. They were not awarded compensation for damages.
