Positional Accuracy Since the dataset was collected mostly through digitization of the scanned maps in the law document, thus there will be inevitably few trivial spatial errors.
Logical Consistency According to a recent report from Khmer times news, date: 28th Sep 2020. Cambodia has 516 fishing communities, of which 475 are freshwater and 41 marine, 677 fisheries conservation areas, 895 community ponds, and 309 fish hatcheries, of which 269 are owned by farmers, with a total of 46,000 aquafarmers.
Completeness This dataset contains all of the data that is currently available to Open Development Cambodia (ODC) and is not exhaustive. While ODC takes every effort to ensure that both spatial and non-spatial data are accurate and up to date, some information on the community fisheries may have changed since the dataset and map were published. Moreover, additional community fisheries, which are not yet included here, may have been approved, established, and cannot find in the public.
Process Step Available data was collected from many sources by ODC’s mappers such as the royal gazette of Cambodia's government, a government website, and reports of the governmental ministries in hard and soft copies of pdf format. Community fisheries in Kep Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, and Kampot shape files were obtained from Fisheries admin. The data in pdf format was then transformed into shapefile/Sqlite format. When the map is not available in the sources, the data is digitized by based on the location stated in the source. The data in shapefile format was finally exported to CSV, KMZ, and GEOJSON files.
