Description

This webpage capture shows about the workers protested to demand benefits from the company, which had declared bankruptcy. The Ministry of Labor issues a warning letter to the CCU president for her alleged role in inciting workers to illegally threaten and pressure employers and causing traffic congestion. The factory suspended workers in May, declared bankruptcy on June 25 and promised to provide benefits by July 1. However, the factory then decided to give fewer benefits and not pay until July 6. One workers said the protest was not the result of union intervention, but self organized by workers. The union asked Nike, one of the factory's main buyers, to take responsibility for paying workers. The outcome was unresolved as of March 2021.
