Importance of small-scale fisheries in tributaries of the Mekong River: Case studies of Lam Se Bok and Huai Kha Yung Rivers, Thailand

The information in this book is based on the research entitled, “Fisheries Impacts of Hydropower Dams on Thai Mekong Tributary Rivers.” The main areas of study are located in Lam Se Bok and Huai Kha Yung Rivers, which are tributaries of the Mekong River. They are important affluents of the Lower Mun River, which covers most plain areas of the international Mekong River. The research team selected the two tributaries because they are less mentioned on various fisheries impacts caused by the construction of the Pak Mun Dam, which is located about 6 km from the confluence of Mun River and Mekong River, or about 50 km and 150 from the Huai Se Bok, Mun River and the Huai Kha Yung, Mun River respectively.
