Annual report 2024 on the payment system in Cambodia

The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) has expanded cross-border QR code payments with Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, South Korea, UnionPay, and Alipay, and continues to seek connections with other countries to boost tourism and commerce. The shift to cashless digital payments is crucial for business growth and financial inclusion. By the end of 2024, the volume and value of digital payments jumped 78% and 38%, respectively, from 2023, with the value reaching 15 times the GDP.
