This Prakas establishes the essential safety and health principles required for all concessionaires carrying out mineral resource operations for all open-pit mine sites to implement in accordance with technical safety standards. It aims to prevent accidents at the site, ensure the well-being of workers at the site, minimize impacts on the environment and society, and ensure the proper rehabilitation of the open-pit mine site after the completion of the mineral resource operation. The exception is the operation of mineral resources for gravel, sand, shell sand, laterite, and topsoil, which shall be governed by separate regulations.
