Located in Santepheap, Thma Keo, and Prek Meas communes, Siem Pang district, Stung Treng province, the 133,707.73 hectares Siem Pang wildlife sanctuary was established with aims: (1) to ensure the conservation of wildlife sanctuary and ecosystem, with fulfillment of necessary conditions for any animal, plant and biodiversity species; (2) to provide natural products and services for sustainable use; (3) to promote the participation of local community as well as the public in taking part in management, protection and conservation of biodiversity and natural resource in the region.
