Financial stability review 2019

In 2019, Cambodia’s financial system has undergone several challenges from both external and domestic fronts. On the external front, the uncertain and prolonged trade tensions and the slower-than-expected growth in the Chinese economy have put a drag on global economic growth. On the internal front, uncertainties over EBA withdrawal, the presence of direct mortgage lending by real estate developers without proper supervision, and rapid credit growth particularly to construction and real estate sectors were the areas of our concerns.
