Fisheries in Vietnam: toward sustainable development

Implementing the restructuring of the fisheries sector has created a shift in the industry structure and product structure. At present, the proportion of fishery production value in the total value of Agriculture-Forestry-Fishery increases by 2.5% compared to 2012; The average growth rate of fishery production value in the period 2013-2017 is 4% / year. The growth rate of income from fisheries is 4.3% / year. These positive changes and achievements will foster the fisheries sector to achieve sustainable development, ensuring national security in the islands of Vietnam.
